CREATING THE PERFECT NEWSLETTER CAMPAIGN

Updated: Jun 2, 2023

Creating the perfect email marketing campaign is difficult, especially when drawing the line between spam-like emails and informative newsletters.

Email marketing can be extremely helpful when building brand awareness and keeping in contact with your customers, so it’ll be beneficial if you begin straight away.

Here are our top tips for creating the perfect newsletter campaign…

EMAIL MARKETING - WHAT IS IT?

Email and newsletter marketing is a brilliant way of maintaining a connection with your loyal customers, or reaching out to form one with new and potential customers.

Having consistent email marketing will increase brand awareness among those that haven’t found your business yet, or could remind customers that are on the fence about purchasing your products or services to complete their journey.

Most email marketing campaigns have a high conversion rate when it comes to marketing, so it’s a brilliant way of capitalising on your current customer list or developing relationships with new potential clients.

BENEFITS OF EMAIL MARKETING

There are a number of benefits to email marketing, and one of the main ones is an increased sense of brand awareness. Building brand awareness is a great way of attracting new business while educating existing customers or tempting them for a return visit.

Additionally, email marketing is a great way of maintaining relationships with the customers that you have secured, reminding them that you’re still available and tempting them in with sales, exclusive discounts or offers.

DETERMINING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE

Having a successful marketing campaign will need a target audience, understanding who you’re aiming the email to and what tone of voice and composition they’d prefer is key.

Some factors to think about when determining your target audience includes – age, gender, interests, location and if they are social-media savvy.

If you’re aiming to market towards Gen Z - include a couple of emojis, aesthetic colours and socially-savvy links. Whereas if your audience is older women that like gardening, aim for natural colours with simple instructions and informative segments.

STRUCTURE OF A NEWSLETTER CAMPAIGN

Newsletter campaigns can be a lot of fun to build, determining what goes where and the aesthetics you’d like to keep throughout your mailers should get your creative juices flowing.

First off, create a snappy and catchy subject line. It needs to be short, could be a question and should be tempting for the reader to open.

Then, the main body of the text should be thought out with the target audience in mind, including short yet informative points and creating a personable connection between you and your customers.

Last but not least, all of your newsletters should have a clear Call to Action (CTA), which either invited the customer to buy something, visit your store, call your number or fill out a form.

Well, those are a couple of our top points when it comes to creating a successful email marketing campaign.

Newsletters can keep your customers hooked, build a relationship with them and promote a great CTA, so make sure to jump on the newsletter bandwagon as soon as possible.
