TOP 5 TIPS FOR CREATING GREAT CONTENT ON TIKTOK

Updated: Jun 2, 2023

TikTok has taken over the social media world, and we love to see it. It's fun, engaging and entertaining - and an effortless way of consuming information in a short and snappy manner.

TikTok has seen the rise of now-famous influencers such as Addison Rae, Charli D'Amelio and more... with brands exploding on TikTok and gaining massive ROI while selling out stock as it's now trending on everyone's 'For You Page' on the platform.

Here are our top tips for creating great content on TikTok and how to nail it for your audience...

1. SHOW THE PERSON BEHIND THE BRAND

If you're using TikTok to showcase your business - your hard work and dedication should be highlighted throughout it! People love to see faces when it comes to social media, and seeing the person behind the brand is the perfect way of forming a connection with your customers.

2. SHORT & SNAPPY

TikToks were initially designed to be a couple of seconds long, attracting the attention of your customers through short snaps. Although TikTok has now developed its platform to be able to record for countless minutes, it's important to assess your target audience and think about whether they'd like to consume short videos instead of ones that are 3 minutes long. For the purpose of advertising, we'd definitely recommend sticking to short and snappy videos.

3. GOOD LIGHTING

Your content needs to be of high quality, not looking like it has been filmed on an old Nokia brick! Investing in a decent ring light that ensures your video has good quality lighting and doesn't seem too dark or over-exposed is a great idea - ring lights come in varied budgets nowadays so get researching.

4. ENGAGING CONTENT

It goes without saying that the type of content you're putting out to your audience will determine how many views and what rate of engagement you'll receive. Coming up with unique concepts or taking inspiration from fun TikTok accounts and putting your own spin on it will ensure you get fresh content out consistently.

5. CONSISTENT FILMING STYLE

Being consistent is key on basically all social media platforms, and that includes finding a filming style and sticking to it. Whether you like the low-exposure, sultry vibe or you like bright colours and lighting, it's key that you stick to that style and maintain a flow of content that matches your brand.

Overall, we definitely think that TikTok is a great platform to advertise on - posting engaging content with a personal flare that has consistency will help your TikTok grow and maintain an effective customer base.
