CREATING SOCIAL MEDIA REPORTS

Updated: Jun 2, 2023

Creating social media reports is a great way to measure the success of your social media strategy and track your progress over time. Creating social media reports and analysing your engagement will show you your progress and what posts and doing well, including those that aren't doing so great. 💭

Social reports will also help with client briefings and internal progress meetings - setting clear expectations about your business and its social media growth.

Here are some steps to follow when creating social media reports...

CREATING SOCIAL MEDIA REPORTS

1. DEFINE YOUR GOALS

It's no good creating reports yet not knowing what answer you're after - defining your goals and outlining expectations is key when pulling together social media reports.

What are your social media goals? Do you want to increase your follower count, engagement, or website traffic? 📲

These are questions you should be asking yourself to then be ready to reflect upon the answers that are shown within the report.

2. PULL DATA TOGETHER

Firstly, collect data from your social media platforms. You can use built-in analytics tools or third-party tools like Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or Google Analytics to gather the necessary data. Look for follower counts, like counts, engagement rates and CTR.

Then, analyse your data to identify patterns and trends - look for insights that can help you improve your social media strategy and define what content is doing better in comparison to others.

3. CREATE YOUR REPORT & REFLECT

Use your data and analysis to create your social media report. Make sure to include an executive summary, key findings, and recommendations for improvement. 📈

Your report should show growth rates and highlight areas which have been performing exceptionally, and those that have been stagnant when it comes to growth rates.

These reports will allow you to critically reflect upon all findings - amend your social media strategy accordingly and allow your brand to develop with your target audience and what they engage with most.

Social media reports are great for showing engagement rates and creating new milestones for you and your brand!
